Pretty Ausome Cakes

Beautifully simple. Perfectly balanced. Always made with love.

Hi, I’m Chemaine—the baker behind Pretty Ausome Cakes.
Ironically, I’ve never been a big fan of cake. Especially the kind that shows up at birthdays and weddings: dry, overly sweet, covered in fondant, and often made with cheap substitutes like shortening. For me, cake should be soft, moist, and full of flavor—not just pretty to look at.

My favorite cake of all time? A warm, fluffy Antillean Butter Cake straight from the oven, slathered in tangy jam. No frills. Just honest, nostalgic goodness.

But while I prefer things simple, my husband and kids adore rich, creamy layers of buttercream. So I started baking for them—and sending cakes off to school for birthdays and parties. To my surprise, even the skeptics were won over. The feedback was incredible:

“Not too sweet.”
“So smooth.”
“This is real cake.”

That’s when I began gifting cakes to friends on their birthdays. It was the perfect solution—I got to skip the stress of gift shopping (a serious anxiety trigger for me as an autistic adult) and instead do something I love: bake.

Over time, I’ve mastered flavors like Vanilla, Chocolate, Red Velvet, Café au Lait, and Carrot Cake. And while I’m constantly testing new ideas, I won’t share a recipe until it meets my very high standards. If I wouldn’t serve it to my own kids, I won’t serve it to you.

At Pretty Ausome Cakes, every cake is made with real ingredients, careful attention to detail, and plenty of passion. Whether you’re a die-hard cake lover or a skeptic like me, there’s something here for you.

Thanks for being here. I hope you’ll taste the difference.
